and festivities of the 7th Tyrrhenian Workshop on Digital Communications
in September 1995, in Viareggio, Italy.


Tour of the "Gulf of Poets"

The Gulf of La Spezia, between Tuscany and Liguria, is known as
the "Gulf of the Poets" to honor P.B. Shelley and G.G. Byron who
lived (and in Shelley's case, died) there in the early 19th century.

Tour of Lucca

September 13 is a special day in the town of Lucca.
It is called Luminara di Santa Croce.
On the evening of September 13, the windows of the
buildings are lit with fire or candles (or electric lights),
and there is a candle light procession through the city.


Piazza Anfiteatro Romano, a piazza which retains the shape
of the Roman amphitheater on which it was built.


The Basilica di San Michele lit with the fires of the
Luminara di Santa Croce.


The Workshop Banquet

The workshop banquet was held at Ristorante Sergio in the Villa di Corliano.
