I have graduated from RPI with a PhD in December 2002. I
worked with Prof. Kenneth S.
Vastola and Prof. Shivkumar
Kalyanaraman for my PhD Thesis. The title of my PhD dissertation was
"Traffic-Sensitive Routing and Traffic Engineering". My research
interests lie in the area of Performance modeling and analysis, routing issues
in the Internet, traffic engineering, network management, protocol design,
queueing networks and wireless networks.
My research was funded by two DARPA sponsored projects,
"Network Management and
Control Using Collaborative Online Simulation" and "Scalable Online Network
Modeling and Simulation".
I worked on development of a Queueing Networks Anslysis Tool
(QNAT) as a part of my Master's Thesis at Indian Institute of Technology,
Kanpur, India. A beta version of the QNAT can be downloaded from the QNAT website. My master's
thesis advisors were Prof. Sanjay K. Bose and Prof. D. Manjunath.
I did my Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from Bhilai
Institute of Technology (BIT), Durg, M.P. (now Chattisgarh), India.

Personal Stuff
I was born and raised in the township of Bhilai,
Chattisgarh, India. It is know for its iron and steel industry - Bhilai Steel
Plant is the only producer of rail and heavy steel plates and major producer of structural steel in India.
I was born in a
Hindu family, but am a Sikh now. I
strongly believe in equality of all irrespective of caste, color, race, sex etc.
Teachings of Sikh religion form the basis for my beliefs, principles and
character. I am forever in love with my Gurus - from Guru Nanak Dev ji to Dhan
Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji. I enjoy listening to Keertan - the
glorious singing of Shabads
(hymns) from Gurbani. My other interests
include cooking, traveling - camping, going to sea beaches, enjoying the nature and
doing community service.
My parents live in
Dubai. I recently got married to Gurinder Singh in November 2002 and moved to
California.
